Wellness Wednesdays Banner

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was greater than the risk it took to bloom.”

Anaïs Nin

The world looks much different than it ever has before. These unprecedented events have caused us all to shift into a temporary new way of thinking, acting, and being. Though we have faced hardships and challenges, we have endured. It is often in times of adversity that we are presented with the opportunity to grow and evolve.

We have all learned to adapt. Individuals and businesses have developed innovative ways to serve their communities. We have created new schedules and routines. Many have shown that they can be flexible – whether at home or at work – by taking on new roles and responsibilities. We have implemented creative ways of staying connected with one another during these times apart.

No matter what the future holds or what the new normal might be, we have already shown our tremendous resilience and immense capacity for growth. We will continue to adapt and evolve, and together we will persevere.

Be well,

Sandra Bosnar-Dale & Isabelle Kunicki

Ear Snacks is a musical podcast for kids about the world. The catchy soundtrack is the star of this delightful podcast from children’s music duo Andrew & Polly (not surprising since the hosts have created songs for Wallykazam! and Sesame Studios).

This funny program also covers a range of topics by talking to kids as well as experts, providing thoughtful fun for young ones and their grownups, and is ideally suited for preschoolers and little kids!

UGOT Active Kids provides fitness and movement-based enrichment programs for children and their parents during social distancing. Their programs are inspired by the idea of bringing communities together, spreading positive energy, and making movement and exercise accessible for everyone from the comfort and safety of their home.

Tune in from your living room and follow along! Classes are streamed through Zoom, and parents are provided with a private confidential link and code to join live classes regardless of their location or time zone. Parents have peace of mind with the option to keep their own cameras off or on, while still being able to see and follow the instructor. Join the virtual dance party – move your body, connect with others, stay healthy, and have fun!

During this time apart, it’s more important than ever to look for creative ways to continue fostering a sense of togetherness with friends and family members. This week, we encourage everyone to write a letter to a loved one. Learning to write a letter is not only an education experience for children, but it is also a great way to brighten the spirits of someone you love!

The HappiMe App uses simple CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), and mindfulness techniques in a fun and engaging way, introducing you to the power of happy thoughts and thinking positively.

By teaching children that they can choose the thoughts they listen to, and by giving them a new toolbox of strategies and techniques, we can help them to grow into happier and more confident young people.
