Last month we were thrilled to welcome author Jackie Burns to our Lower Elementary classrooms at our Midtown Cranbrooke campus where she talked about her newly published book The Condo Kids – Adventures with Bob the Barbary Sheep. Jackie read excerpts from the book and talked about the writing process, from the initial story idea to the publication of the book. The character of Bob was inspired by the real life Barbary sheep located at the High Park zoo, right down the road from our Clendenan and Annette campuses. When our Primary classes recently visited the zoo we got a chance to see the Barbary Sheep and we tried to pick out which sheep was Bob. This is the first in a series of books Jackie is writing and we can’t wait to have her back when the second installment comes out to hear how the adventure continues!
