Overnight Outing to Claremont Nature Centre

Our first overnight outing to Claremont Nature Centre was a huge success! Some of us were moving a little slowly on the first morning, but we all managed to catch a little rest, and we were excited to take on the day. A hearty breakfast was had by all and then we started our Nature Photography course.

Day two was spectacular! We managed to miss the rain entirely, and even saw the sun for a little bit. In addition to our Nature Photography, we participated in a First Nations Workshop and then built ourselves a nice little campfire for marshmallow roasting. Later on, we started round two of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, but all the fresh air we had dictated a much earlier bedtime for most of us!

On the morning of day three, we played a slightly soggy game of Instincts for Survival before packing up and saying our goodbyes to the amazing staff at Claremont. A lovely time was had by all, and the staff were so impressed with our group! Our third year Cedars and our Sequoias were well behaved, cooperative and enthusiastic for the duration of our trip. Overall, it was such a wonderful experience for our students and we want to thank Ms Grant and Mr Currie, as well as everyone at Claremont Nature Centre/Toronto & Region Conservation, for helping making it the success it was!Claremont campfire and smoresClaremont RiverStudent relaxing in the woodsSmiling students in the woodsStudents at Claremont Nature CentreStudents at Claremont Nature CentreStudents sleeping on the bus
