“When you can’t change the direction
of the wind – adjust your sails.”

H. Jackson Brown Jr.

As educators, our goal has always been to provide children with the skills, knowledge, and support that they need so they are capable not only of adapting, but thriving, when faced with challenges. We have strived through the years to instil in our students a sense of resilience so that they can confidently handle adversity and change. With the unmatched speed and scale of the changes we presently face, it is more important than ever to acknowledge that navigating change happens on a personal level. There is no right or wrong. Rather, a recognition that things are very different right now, and often beyond our control. It will get better, but for now we are all learning to navigate uncharted waters – weathering the storm together.

Be well,

Daily exercise is a key component in maintaining a healthy lifestyle – important for both our physical and mental health. As we settle into the temporary new routine of staying at home, how we incorporate that into our daily lives may look a little different than we are used to. We hope to provide your family with inspiration for how to include fitness into your schedules. We want to show everyone that at-home fitness can be made fun! Below is a link for kid-friendly workout videos to get your family moving, grooving, and working up a sweat together!

Help your children brighten the days of a friend, family member, or neighbour. Help your kids schedule a virtual “date” with someone they love. Whether that be having lunch with grandparents, a playdate with friends, watching a movie with cousins, baking with an aunt or uncle, or checking in with neighbours – this can all be done from the comfort of your home over your computer screen. Your child will absolutely love connecting with the important people in their lives – and it will be a much appreciated ray of sunshine to those you reach out to.
